Cheaters

Cheaters and dishonest players have taken over site. 

Is there a cheating epidemic on the site, or have the moderators completely lost it? I report, but very rarely do things get done. I stopped logging in for the past few weeks because it was getting so annoying. 
 
Have any of you come across users that participate in dishonest activities, like sandbagging or creating new accounts that play like 2000 rated players, but still manage to stay active?

Someone informed me that they cheat using a Chrome extension and that there is a particular Discord room where cheating is permitted.  

Before this gets locked I will share some tips 1. AVOID RAPID at all costs, it's riddled with cheaters, most of which don't even get caught. 2. If you like variants play those as cheaters are trash at chess and usually don't even know they exist

3. Avoid daily: spotting cheating in daily is extremely difficult

Since the user experience is impacted, I rarely play Blitz, which is pretty sad. The moderators' lack of response to this and their use of sophisticated algorithms to ban these users raise serious concerns. In particular the various cheating tool used in browsers.

Cheating involves more than just using software; it also involves advanced players purposefully creating new accounts or elite players sandbagging.

It’s possible that after encountering a few cheaters, you might start seeing more false positives, assuming that everyone who beats you is cheating. The frustration of facing cheaters can also make these encounters feel more frequent than they actually are.

It is safe to say that, having been a member for more than ten years, I can tell the difference between chess fatigue and cheaters.

Although these issues do exist, chess administrators do not seem to have the resources or the drive to deal with them.
