Cheaters get no consequences

Why cheaters get away with it so easily? I sometimes encounter players who are obviously playing like the chess.com engine (just a few deviations to make it discreet), having a 95+ accuracy 5 games in a row (with 1400 elo or so). If I report them to hold them accountable, nothing happens. They face no consequences, everyone accepts it and their accounts remain.

The perception of cheating levels is orders of magnitude more than the actual amount. The vast majority of games and players are clean

If you report someone and they don't get closed after a few days then either

  • There's insufficient evidence of cheating
  • There's no evidence of cheating
