Chess.com sucks
From Google:
"Based on online forum discussions and reviews, here's a summary of common complaints about Lichess:
1 - Apparent connection issues or lag: Many users experience delays in moves, stopped clocks, and game losses due to what appears to be connection issues, even with stable internet.
2 - Cheating and lack of effective reporting/banning system: Many users express frustration about encountering cheaters and with the perceived inaction of Lichess after reporting them, compared to other sites. This lack of responsiveness regarding cheating reports can be disheartening for users who invest time and effort in fair play.
3 - Toxic community and poor sportsmanship: Many users describe the Lichess community as "garbage" and toxic, citing instances of wasting time, insulting messages, and poor sportsmanship. While some suggest these negative interactions are a minority, others feel that the overall tone of the community is becoming increasingly negative.
4 - App usability and mobile experience: Some users find the Lichess app to be less user-friendly and aesthetically appealing compared to other platforms, particularly on mobile devices. Specific complaints include a clunky board editor and a lack of features available on the website, according to MiniReview.
5 - Rating system and accuracy: Many users find Lichess's implementation of the Glicko-2 rating system to be inaccurate. Even after thousands of games the rating system still shows instability and high uncertainty.
6 - Lack of premium features or paid content: Some users miss the structured learning resources and premium content available on other platforms, such as Chess.com, which they believe offer higher quality and better organization for educational purposes.
7 - Aesthetics and design: While many appreciate Lichess's clean and minimalist design, others find its aesthetics to be less appealing compared to the more polished and customizable interfaces offered by competing platforms."

Engine analysis here is free and unlimited - and I'm always baffled that so many people don't seem to realize this.

"From google" = AI generated BS.
"People who fawn over Lichess remind me of people who go on and on about Linux. Yes, I understand that you think Microsoft is pure evil because they charge money... but there is a reason people use their products. They work and people like them."

still with that chip on his shoulder
What are you talking about, dude? Did we have any disagreement in the past? Or what?
We did, yes, in the thread where Boris made jokes about Latvia and you wanted an apology, something I called peevish. I'd prefer mutual respect, even when we disagree, and to consider that an anomaly, but your comment here isn't a good start if that's to be the case. MrChatty doesn't even play here, by the way, not since April. He plays at Lichess and comes here only to use the forums, often to post in threads like this and complain about chess.com and recommend Lichess. What you're seeing here is a continuation of a debate that started elsewhere*, him promoting Lichess, me defending chess.com. It's true that I don't agree with most of the complaints made about Lichess. It would be my second choice. I played there first when I took up chess again, the first time as an adult, earlier this year. It wasn't terrible but I tried chess.com finally and, even though it's far from perfect, I like it a lot, and I like the community a lot. I'm not an employee. I have no vested interest. I defend it from it's detractors because I honestly think it deserves to be defended. Suggesting an ulterior motive, I find offensive.

MrChatty ... recommend Lichess
...him promoting Lichess...
Some incorrect info, I have never "recommended" and "promoted" lichess
I have never tried to make people use lichess and moreover stop using chess.com
It's impied. And I'm not accusing you of anything improper. I'm also not going to spend much more time on this but, for example, from the thread where this began:
NOTHING TO DO WHATSOEVER WITH ANYTHING CHESS.COM DOES OR DOESN'T DO.
I might believe that if I did not see how smooth lichess works
My point is simple:
- suppose I want to play one game: online chess
- I have two popular hardware/software implementations of this game: chess.com and lichess
- when I played this game on chess.com I often had disconnections followed by quite hard reconnections (up to 1 minute and even more)
- when I played this game on lichess I had no disconnections
Summary: one game, two implementations, one leads to disconnections quite often, another one does not lead to disconnections at all
@thedelcai stands with the company: the product is ok
I stand against company: the product is not ok
I'm not sure why you followed me here. I thought our conversation pretty much ran it's course and ended with somewhat of an understanding.

"Boris" repeatedly insults and mocks Latvians. The thing he does is incredibly far from "jokes". I don't understand why you'd side with the abusive troll and insult the guy who calls the abuse out.
It's impied
For you
All of this stuff is public so every user may read it and find nothing like "Hey people! Dont use chess.com, use lichess!" there
Also every user may (if they want) read the entire thread instead of selected comments, this is a better practice

I just pointed out at some incorrect information about me above in this thread, nothing more
Btw, the only thing I do recommend here is to eat apples (if there is no contraindication, of course)

This is typical of the way you argue, at least in my experience. It's not debatable that you think Lichess is better and made arguments to that effect.
I doubt anyone is going to read the entire thread, but if they did, they won't find anything to contradict what I've said... which is that, by implication, you are promoting Lichess. It's odd that you deny it. I don't even say you're doing anything wrong in doing so.

why do you guys criticize chess.com on chess.com
