Chess.com sucks
Improper game set up . I wouldn't go as far as saying chess.com sucks but they need more human help with issues. I'm about to lose rating points on a daily tournament because the starting position is invalid and I refuse to play. I can't get a person to resolve it. The guy who started the tournament has had his membership revoked BTW
I wouldn't pay chess dot come any money given the amount of cheaters on here. I saw a plugin on youtube, it hooks into chrome and you can even cheat at bullet. I had someone play 25 moves in a 1m bullet game, they took only 2 secs to think out their moves, while I used all 60 sec. Did they get banned? No. Online chess is total BS, a complete waste of time. I don't care if cheaters ruin it though, because most chess players are a holes anyway.

"Thought you were banned. Wasn't your account closed long ago"?...... You must be confusing me with someone else. I posted 3 dots to keep an eye on this thread. Its SOoo negative....too negative for me. So I'll let the animals speak for me.

Perhaps, but your username and avatar stands out so I don't see how I would be confusing you for someone else.

I highly doubt that they didn't get banned - that sort of obvious cheating gets picked up by the automated systems within 24 hours nowadays. If you're expecting anything to deliver instant bans, you have unrealistic expectations. But it's clear that you don't actually like chess at all, so that fits.

that is wishful thinking, that very same program lets you set your "goal" rating and not a single detectio system will detect that, same goes in blitz where dudes are blasting out moves in every position taking less than 10 secs every move for the whole game

I think you have to concede that Chess.com does a good job of sponsoring and covering interesting events every month.
And as far as the effort to keep cheating under control, the numbers of closed accounts is published every month:
The numbers for September 2024 included more than 63,000 regular accounts and 14 titled accounts.
I think it would be great to have more insight into the numbers of closed accounts- for example to know what percentage of the closed accounts were less than 30 days old. And what percentage is more than a year old. And distribution by ratings bracket and/ or time control.
I don't think that information would give away any of the Fair Play Team's secrets.

I don't like some of the arrogant people who play it, you sound like one of them. Cheating in the end will ruin the whole online game, only an idiot can't see that.

Unfounded paranoia about cheating is also very bad for the game as well. Cheating is a problem, sure, but Chess.com has invested a lot of resources to try and make sure it's not a horrible problem. It's certainly not at the levels that people want to declare at 80%, 50% of games - it's more like 5%, definitely no more than single digits.

Except they're not valuing profit above everything else - watch any of the videos in https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general-chess-discussion/erik-allebest-interview-on-scaling-to-100m-revenue-150m-members-and-700-people-99989457 from earlier this year and you'll see what really motivates them.
when i joined in 2019 you used to be able to do 5 puzzles a day. Now it's down to what, three? With no membership.
For game analysis you could do the free analysis at depth 10 in 2019 and it'll still work pretty well but now I don't think that exists anymore.
THEY LET YOU DO 5 A DAY??! OMG

That's what you want to believe it's no more than 5%, but tell me, if you found out it was close to 40%, would you continue to play chess online, at what percentage do you say, actually there is no point.
My guess is you would play no matter what percentage it is.

How do you know cheet.com "has invested a lot of resources to try and make sure it's not a horrible problem"???
Watch the interviews from Erik in the thread I posted earlier. Read any of their monthly reports that include statistics on Fair Play closures, such as the one @justbefair posted a screen shot for above. Watch any of Danny Rensch's "State of Chess.com" sessions on YouTube. Join the Cheating discussion forum at https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum and ask any of the experts there how it's improved over the years and their opinions on its current state.

Tell me, if you found out the earth was flat, would you continue to fly in airplanes, knowing that you might fall off the edge?
There's no point in engaging with ridiculopus and unfounded hypotheticals.
Post the reasons you think there's so much cheating going on in the discussion forum at https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum, and the experts will patiently explain to why how you're mistaken. You can't discuss cheating in the public forums, so if you try to post that here, it will get the thread locked. Although this thread might get locked anyway, because it is still discussing cheating even if not how people are cheating.
get the heck out of here, if u think chess.com doesn't deserve u means that u don't deserve chess. com
