For live chess if a game is abandoned it should end right away (I don't know if this is how it works) And if its disconnected it should make a distinction to the opponent.
Also show what the opening is in the game window
In live chess if the chat is turned off, the opponent should see this (again I never will chat in live chess, so I want my opponent to see this and not think Im being rude)
My last idea is to make "thumbs down" trophies for rude players or for blunders, and they couldn't take them off for like two weeks.
Here's something that I think would be cool, don't know if anyone's ever mentioned it? How about a way to download completed games to a cell phone or similar device for study? So for instance if I wanted to go over the game of the day or an annotated game, as a paying member (If I had the money I would be), I would simply hit a button next to the board which would send it to my phone for my later perusal. That way I wouldn't need to be connected to chess.com all the time to access that feature, and I would have it whenever I needed it.
Further if it was set up so you could down load your own games, or other games that you wanted to review, just go the game, hit the GTP (Game To Phone) send button et voila!! Game goes to your phone and next thing you know you're at the local chess club showing your buddies the killer game you played the night before. Could also set up game subscriptions i.e game of the day or if one the regular game commentators posts a game, it goes to the mobile device.
Possibly also to be used with games in progress that you want to spend some time thinking about but aren't going to be around the computer. Send it to the phone, have access to it whenever you want.
Sounds neato! Sorry if someone else has already brought it up, but the idea was floating around in my brain.
