I didn't read all 500+ replies, but if it hasn't been suggested...Add a "current streak" stat to stats box.

 Total: 103

Won: 81 (79%)

Lost: 13 (13%)

Drawn: 9 (9%)

Streak: 5 wins

A different streak from the longest winning & losing streaks currently shown within the full stats?

could we have a page or some sort of location with a few clocks showing times in a few major cities in regions of the world, so we can know the approximate time in our opponents areas. t/y

On the Tactics Trainer for nonpaying members, allow 3 puzzles per day regardless of when they occur in the day, instead of having to wait 24 hours to play again.  In other words, reset the number at midnight.  That way, if I play my three puzzles late one evening, I can do the next day's puzzles earlier in the day, instead of having to wait until the second day.

Thank you for delivering this!

I don't know what it's called maybe chess golf, I saw in an old issue of chess life. Basically you go through a grandmaster level game, and try to guess what move was made in the game, if you play the same move as the gm it's like shooting par, if you choose a blunder it's a bogie, if you play a move that's better than what the gm played it's a birdy or eagle. and then you go through the whole game, and add up your score at the end. I guess kind of like chess mentor but entire games.

Forgive me if this has been posted.  My dream feature would be a Practice Board under the 'Learn' menu, where I could use the board to play through games in books.  Ideally it would act just like the Analysis Board acts now, with one exception; instead of a 'current' button, we would have 'save' and 'recall' buttons (like an old-school scientific calculator).

Imagine this scenario: you pull out your favorite chess book and flip to a game.  You get to an annotated game (that didn't take long) and pull up the Practice Board.  You set up the position (say by not enforcing legal moves; maybe it would be useful to have a 'piece removal' button), then enact legal moves (if you want).  You play through the game for a bit, then get to a point where the author goes down a variation.  You hit 'save' and move through the variation, maybe going back and forth a bit to try different ideas the author didn't cover.  Then you finish the variation and hit 'recall' to jump back up to the main line.  Playing through the rest of the game, you realize how convenient that was, not having to set up a board and reset pieces all the time.  You then stop narrating your hypothetical situation to yourself.

Here's my fantasy layout:

-----------------------------

|                                |

|                                |      <--- board

|                                |

-----------------------------

|<   <<   <   >   >>   >|   x     <--- buttons ('x' is the piece deletion button)

        save   recall               <--- buttons

You could also theoretically put buttons for each piece and have the option to start with a blank board, but since most games in books start from the usual starting position, that makes the most sense to me.  You could just remove pieces by using a pawn to fly around munching all the pieces that aren't in the position to begin with (before enforcing legal moves if that's your thing).

Three cheers for a great site!

Could you increase the time per move requirement for quick knockouts? I consider myself relatively quick to respond to moves, the problem is facing international players. I just can't stay up 24/7 to decrease my average time per move. Besides, if it's one day per move, why not make the requirement one day per move?

I believe this feature already exists for paying members.  I wouldn't know, however, as I am not a member (it's tough to buy a subscription to anything when you're a college student without a steady source of income).

My suggestion is:  A place on your profile or on the "My Online Chess" page where you can view the current scores for any team matches you're a part of (perhaps you could use the Settings page to change this to show the scores of all team matches of a particular team, regardless of your participation in the match, or even remove this feature from your profile entirely).

Also, perhaps we could have a feature where we could click the button to view all team matches, then have some sort of search box that we could use to look up the current (or completed) matches of a particular team (this would be especially useful for "sizing up" a future opponent).

These features would really be helpful for us World League participants:)

@kielejocain:  The practice board could also have pieces below the board that you could click and drag, so you could add pieces to the board.  Also you could have two more buttons:  "Clear Board" to remove all pieces but Kings (to make it easier to setup endgame positions), and "New Board" for when you want to start over with a board set up for the beginning of a new game.

These suggestions were inspired by the CM5000 "Set Up Position" feature.

When searching for a member can you have the option of looking for the member with that in there name that was most recently online?

Example i have a group called atv's atc's and dirtbikes and when i'm looking for a person to invite i type in something atv related into the box at the top

i typed in rider and found 34 pages of names, most weren't active

One suggestion I have is to add a column to a person's current tournament listing that states "In Progress", "Round Completed" and "Eliminated".  That way people know if they need to contiune looking at the tournament for current or future games.

I would like a "save your favorite positions" in opening explorer, like they have on 365chess.com

If you set up a position in Game Explorer, you can save a link to that position (as a bookmark) via LINK TO PAGE. Is this what you're looking for?

Hmm, never noticed that before! Does the job, but its not the simplest way of going about the business...

I would like to sort my current games, so that online players appear at the top of the list.

Please could the Admins of a Group get a message whenever a team match or votechess game finishes? Matches and votechess games can last months, and often you only notice a match has finished by chance, with 50 matches on the go its hard to keep track of things. If we received a message it would be a big help :-)

Transparent avatars.

Avatar of drakesdman

When deleting messages could there be a button that deletes them all at once instead of page by page. At the moment i have 26 pages of messages to delete due to the fact i'm in so many groups.

Thanks for eveything uv done for this site

i think that we should have a "resume" feature when you get logged off on live chess. instead of instantly losing, the game is put on hold, and if you purposely log off because you are losing, you HAVE to complete the game that is on hold before you can play any other games, unless your opponent on hold is offline.
