@paul211:

a few thoughts -

- thanks for your reply.

- being a manager at a plant is very different being an owner of a website. big companies often hire people to sit around and waste time on silly projects. they have committees to oversee other oversight committees. they have meetings to plan the next meeting. they have people who create paperwork documentation of how well they are documenting everything on paper and then put those into storage where they pay someone to audit the paperwork that nobody will ever see. small companies can't afford any of that. i sense that is where you were coming from: being a manager at a large non-consumer, non-web company vs. being an owner of a small, consumer-oriented website.

- i was never offended by the content of your suggestions, just the tone, relentlessness, and attitude. i am always open to learning new things. but just because i don't agree doesn't mean i don't think about it and decide differently from you. that doesn't mean i'm stubborn or closed-minded. it might just mean i am right (or think i am).

- i'm not a believer in multiple personalities where you treat people one way in public and another way in private. i'm the same dude to everyone. i'm polite and sociable, but i'm not a pushover. i gave you several subtle hints that you were offending me, and you didn't seem to hear them. i'm not embarrassed by my strong reaction, nor do i think that needs to be private, since you were happy to publicly bash on me and others. people on this site know i'm a real guy. i'm not some fake persona that i created that only says nice things and yes yes yes to everyone. i'm alive and engaged in the community as a member and an owner. i play games. i chat. i have opinions. i'm friendly. and i also defend myself and my ideas when attacked.

- we're from different worlds: culturally, linguisitcally, professionally, personaly, generationally... i don't expect us to agree on everything or fit like peas in a pod. but i do think we can be respectful and civil to each other. i'm committed to doing that, though i won't stand to be publicly battered.

i hope we can move forward on a more positive note.

ahem ahem,

1) A take back move feature in standard chess. It requires opponent permission for the move(s) of course.

2) I appreciate the timing of this point may be bad as the board page has recently amended. To help reduce unnecessary mouse travel can the position of the board and the chat / move box be switched & have the submit move next to the board, perhaps beneath. When I change games a portion of the board is too low so I scroll via the screen edge arrows, then to make a move its back to the board position and then to send the move its back across the screen to the submit button.

>:)

PS whats the big news about chess 960, after a bit of messing about in the opening its the same as ever.

An idea just came really IMPORTANT I would like to suggest a wishlist. This wishlist is a list of players who I want to play next after I finish and availabe for more games. For example, sometime when people challenge me I might not be available or some other reasons, so I have to decline. After I decline, it should ask me if I want to add him/her to my wishlist or not.... I hope you get what I am talking about, that would be great.

There was some discussion of a similar feature here

thanks very much Komoliddin07
Start new game, advanced options, yes but I don't see the take back move feature.

Thanks for your help I've got there now.

I think it says the feature is for player specific challenges, rather than open seeks.

Out.

I've learn to be skeptical... I've made suggestions only to find out later they were already there!  lol.  On a non-site suggestion (I'm sure this has been thrown out there too) I think doing Chess.com meet-ups in different cities would be really cool.  Make it a real event... heck, you could even throw a tourney!

Yes please... add chess960 to team matches and vote chess with separate leaderboard ratings / rankings..

farbror

Is there any easy way to subscribe (i.e. be notified after each move) to games by other players? If not, I would like to add it to the Wish List.

Pegrin

I would like an option to have my theme override a group theme. Many group owners have different aesthetic sensibilities (and sometimes little awareness of what is and isn't easy to read) that shouldn't be forced on me.

Trippy! Tongue out

I know a good new feature that chess.com could use to help improve the chat boxes on games.

Today I ended a game with another opponent and we were chatting a lot in the box, and we remetched, but the chat doesn"t carry over. It would be nice that a rematch with another player keeps everything in the chat box so that the chat can continue normally and stuff doesn't get forgotten about.

Sorry for the double post, but me and Windows-7_ were just talking about wanting a Chess960 computer analysis tool, that allows for you to submit a Chess960 game for computer analysis.

Could I recommend denoting somehow if a conditional move has already been set by us in one of our games?  So if we go back into the game, we can see right away (via an astrisk or something) that we have already set a conditional move?  Thanks!

Hi erik and staff, great work on the 960. You know on the toolbar I have 'My Home' and on the the drop-down I have 'online chess' we have the list of current games, recent games, would it also be possible to have a list of the current votechess games that I am in, so I can see which games that is it my turn to play and how much time we have left ?

i agree.

The ability to save a game "'Archive'" so you don't have to go fishing for it in your game archive.

Maybe vote chess game archive?

Seperate 960 Game Archive from Standard Chess game archive?

Each member has an "Online Chess Home" and a "Chess960 Home"?

Team vs. Team tournaments?

Live Chess Tournaments?

4 player chess? it's just like chess except players make teams of 2, and decide on the move to make. There can be a chat box for your team of two, and one for all 4 players

This is, in effect, vote chess with only two players on each team. It is easy to do: create a team for the sole purpose of playing the other two (who have also made a team) and let the battle commence.

I would like the idea of an analysis board on a diagram.  This would enable people to refute variations that were not mentioned in the move list.
