@chuck why aren't you connected to wifi on your phone? What are you doing that makes you use mobile data?

I’m out in the prairies.

I don’t have wifi but unlimited data. Hot  spotting my lap top is annoying.

probably best not to give your location to everybody on the internet?

Oh no! Good call.

Aight heading to your location right now, thanks chief.

I've found mindfulness and being social to be helpful. Practicing difficult puzzles without switch-tasking tends to help also because you get used to focusing on only one thing for long periods of time. It's also a lot easier for me to stay focused when my life is in order.

On the topic of my previous question, what are a couple ways to learn the ideas of an opening/pawn structure?

Books, database research, articles, videos... I'm sure there are other ways as well.

You don't need to be social in order to prioritize chess improvement. That said, socializing can be energizing and motivating especially when it's with chess friends or training partners.

Master Logoczar is literally one of the nicest people in chess and it's a real pleasure to work with him on our award winning chessable  courses (and coming Patreon!) His enthusiasm and teaching approach are phenomenal -- I highly recommend.

As a coach do you recommend your students play OTB and online, or just one or the other?

Anyone can grind to CM, if that's your question.

What about GM is that out of question for me?

Why not? I enjoy both.

NM and CM are possible. Even FM and IM can be reached with dedication. GM is hard for anyone, but not impossible. Some 20-year-olds managed to get the GM title in under 10 years. It's possible, but NM, CM, and FM are the easiest.

Thanks for giving your time I appreciate😊

How do I become a GM in less than 3 weeks? My ELO is around 1200 and I'm on a deadline. I need to get it done before the end of April and am willing to devote 30 minutes a day. Thank you!
