from what I've read Frank, afaf runs rings round you on the 'smartness' stakes, an' she already a bloody sight nicer - you is gonna have to try harder, an' it don't cost nuffin'
All these pages, and I don't know what the big deal is. Goat meat is tasty.
I saw that inquiry and I tend to agree. A goat (well, more than one -- they really are tasty) had to die in my mission to eat one of every ungulate.
I'll apologize in advance to any whale lovers out there.
Man! that's a really difficult mission to take on! How was Zebra? Giraffe?
Which critter--for those who don't know, critter is a synonym for ungulate where I come from--is leading in the taste department? I vote for pig, with lamb running a close second.
Afafs reply to 'I'll try and be nicer if you try and be smarter with 'pass' openly declines to try and be smarter.
Complaining about not being able to post pictures of a 'holiday ritual goat sacrifice' on chess.com
Chetumals account was closed because she was posting death threats. Afaf however feels aggrieved because 'it appears a ghost has been there and you are responding to a imaginary friend'
Yes, it would seem we are clearly in presence of a genius when it comes to afaf, I am very sorry big beardy man.
Why has this turning into yet another mud slinging thread? I am turning tracking back off :(
Afaf has a hard time restraining herself...
Oh, wow. This thread grew overnight.
After reading Erik's replies, I can glean why he does not see this as an issue. It is understandable. He lives in a fairly large city, and it is true that, for a casual person, tracking down somebody in a city is relatively difficult. Far from impossible if certain tricks are known, and made easier with each additional piece of information revealed in a profile/post/article/photo album - especially if the map gives a specific area within the city - yet still probably won't happen unless the tracker is rather determined.
But the problem is that not everybody lives in a city. There are remote communities, small towns, villages, even worksites that are so far from civilisation that the only practical solution for employess is to live on-site. I believe that this was one of the core principles of Afaf's point, as she did say that she lives in such a place. Now, I don't imagine finding somebody in such a community who posts their name and image to pose much difficulty at all, given a little dedication.
I'm glad that Erik is looking in to a solution. The general feeling of replies gives me the impression that an option to decline being shown or the map going by profile location would both be more than acceptable solutions to most users bothered by this issue.
Thank you to kohai, without whom I would surely have missed Erik's posts.
although i did want to go back a few pages and remind all that Afaf did use the term dolt, which i have to say made me pretty happy. i do love a good word--dolt entirely qualifies. here's what the Oxford English Dictionary has to say:
[Found with its derivatives from middle of 16thc.; perh. earlier in dialect use. App. related to OE. dol, ME. dol, doll,
DULL, and to DOLD, stupid, inert of intellect or faculty. For the -t, cf. ME. dult in sense of dulled: see DULL v.]
1. A dull, stupid fellow; a blockhead, numskull.
2. a. attrib. or as adj. Doltish, stupid, senseless, foolish. b. Comb., as dolt-head, (a) a dolt, blockhead; (b) a stupid head (quot. 1711).
Hence doltage,
doltry, the condition of a dolt;
doltify v. trans., to make a dolt of.
When a member account is closed ( for whatever reason) everything they have posted disappears from public view. Its not deleted, nor is it lost forever :)
It would be really nice to see this resolved. I understand that there are times when you need to do a clean sweep of a members content without having to first delete their account and then surgically clean up all of their posts, as with abusive trolls posting garbage everywhere, but I think that much more often the closure of an account doesn't warrant the complete removal of all of that user's contributions to the community.
It would be great to see these two things separated so that one does not necessitate the other.

Thanks for that I didn't know kohai :)
