Disappointing, whatever his views - and I agreed with a few - at least he was prepared to argue his case in a mostly constructive way. Unfortunately, on the internet this often attracts baiters, and I did notice a few off-comments. This type of behaviour is as old as the hills. Frankly I'd rather see him around than the kids who post a single sentence dwarfed by a large pic, the type of behaviour that has ruined many a discussion forum.
CooloutAC closed for abuse
lol... same old CooloutAC just like back when he used to cause havoc on the quake live and esreality forums.
So he really was the self appointed champion of eSports?

Do you plan to live forever?
No, but that statement had nothing to do with living forever. It's about assessing what's funny.
Funnily enough, your username made me laugh the first time I read it, and I'm probably one of very few people on the forum that understands it. Kudos.
Do you know why the XOR is actually faster than a MOV at the transistor gate level? Double kudos if so. My father was an assembly language programmer, I only dabbled there.

If my account was closed for abuse, about 3 people would notice, and even they wouldn't care. Same goes for most others.
He certainly made a name for himself here and was always noticed, either for his presence or for his absence.
I felt I would have liked him in real life, but I didn't like the way he told people here they were dishonest, insincere, etc. He was cyber-rude, but probably a decent guy if you knew him in person. At least never obscene or vulgar. That puts him ahead of a few I've seen recently.

On the contrary, your posts here are far more meaningful and worthwhile than the likes of CooloutAC. Gotta think long term. Coolout was another Colby, or a 2Q1C...a "better to burn out than fade way" type that cannot last. Coolout was destined to either mature and mellow over time, or implode (and possibly come back in a new form and implode over and over again)...no other outcomes possible.
Not sure about that Boomer thread, though...every generation has their advantages and obstacles.

Several months ago, after Coolout had been missing from the forums for a few weeks, I saw he was online and messaged him. He told me he was fed up with chess. I tried to cheer him up and we had a friendly talk for half an hour. Then he suddenly and without warning accused me of being a fake account and blocked me. He never unblocked me.
That was the biggest hint of all that his was a fake account. About a week later, he started posting again. His style had changed and he was using different words rather than "shameful".
Coolout wrote in many different styles. There's no doubt that his profile was an act: but whose act? Just before he left, he told me, in a thread, two things. Firstly, he soberly told me that he no longer believed that chess is a sport. Secondly, he said he was leaving and wouldn't be coming back. He still had his Diamond membership. A day later he had only an ordinary membership.
He was closed for abuse, which will have been a deliberate act. If you swear at mods for long enough, they'll close you. That has the advantage, if it is one, that all your posts vanish. I had my suspicions that it was a composite or shared account. Against site rules, of course but that would be one way to explain the variation in writing style.
It's funny that you don't see his behavior or chosen tactics changing somewhat as being the result of being called out for it repeatedly...but then you don't see the small changes in your own posting over the years as being affected by that either.
Behavior modification works on anyone that is not secure in who they are. For good or ill.

One may ask why trolls like him are so determined to staying here that their chess.com presence is immortal!
He's not a troll. His need to have the last word to prove he's right just makes it seem so sometimes. As with other self appointed intellectuals/champions of causes. In that sense not too unlike @cooloutac. Just let it go. This too shall pass.

For the record, that is not my username (or implication thereof either), and that usage has resulted in mutings before. Just so you know.

he did come to my stream, i said it was unfortunate as i was trying to be respectful and of course i do hate the times where he called me an autistic sheep but eh we have reached a "mutual relationship" in the aspect that we both grew to accept each other as respectful friends

His behaviour constantly altered and he genuinely responded to constructive criticism, albeit very slowly and he wouldn't usually admit it.
It isn't surprising that your simplistic mindset expects others to write on subjects you wish them to. I hadn't wished to make that point as it was unnecessary. People would either see it or not.
Funny, since you nominate yourself arbiter and judge of so many threads...this would seem to imply that yours is the most rigid and simplistic "mindset".
The poster on the other thread today pointed out the single most often mentioned characteristic mentioned to me about you over the years by various well wishers...the complete lack of self awareness.

Meh, I guess I'll post in this topic... I somewhat dislike memorializing someone like coolout.
On balance I never saw him do something deserving of a ban... I imagine being omnipresent and obnoxious generates a lot of reports, and so all it took was a few minor infractions -- the kind that most of us would have been able to get away with.
So I don't like memorializing him, but he wasn't so bad either.

instead of letting him get away, the mods got down on him.

Do you remember?
The 21st year in September?
I ask because he opened his account in Sept 2021.

Of course but you missed the party, man

well at least he isn't one repulsive troll who is still active and blaming martin
Yeah, or going around tickling people's butts... not that I'm saying butt_tickler does that, and it's a usage that has resulted in mutings before... which is useful to note just so we all understand that IF I were making such an insinuation, which I'm not, but if I were, it wouldn't be so uncommon.
Look, all I'm saying is the b_tickler doth protest too much methinks.
