(daily/online chess) Open challenges being aborted for no reason by users?

This happens to me in daily/correspondence/online chess. The player will create an open challenge, I will then accept it, and play. it'll get close to timing out (or a few to many moves into the game) until there's at least half an hour to even minutes left,  then the person will abort the game. What is the point in even creating a challenge in the first place, if they aren't going to play fair, or at all?

Point is, the fair play policy should also apply to constantly aborting (for no reason) open challenges in daily/online chess. I do hope the moderators or development team (who are great!) can have this issue corrected. It is rather annoying to deal with and I am probably not the only one affected by this.

I had to (sigh) edit the topic to be more relevant, three times due to making a typo.

It is possible that some people create the challenge, not knowing what the game type actually is and then end up aborting, or having the system abort when they don't move.

However, Daily/correspondence isn't the same as Live where not playing keeps the other player from a game. For those that play a very limited number of games at a time it can be a bother but otherwise you can just play another game and not worry about it.

This would be really annoying in 14 day games. But I think to avoid this kind of exploitation, chess.com can introduce a time limit to abort game of 24 hours. If you send out a seek, leave for the day come back to see your seek accepted, do not like who your match'ed up against, then you might want to abort. But 24 hours is more then enough time to make this decision.

I would hope they can introduce/integrate a 24 hour rule (or 12 hour rule for 1 day/24 hour games), so it's fair for everyone, and before aborting a game, at least be made to include a valid reason why.
