Sometimes players can't do a lot about disconecting. I know there are a lot that can, but there few who have a bad internet connection or pc problems. I think the 2 minutes system is fine. Disconnect in loosing position

I just made a move that wins the queen. My opponent disconnected. That happens all the time. Then I have to wait 2 minutes to win the game.
I think that if an opponent disconnect there should be a chess engin evaluation of the position. If the position is totally loosing for the player who disconnected, the game should be immideately lost.
