Do you enjoy writing? Or just an avid reader?

Hi everyone,

If you enjoy writing and/or are an avid reader, then you might like to join my group Chess Nuts and participate in a new novel and other storylines we are preparing to write.

At the moment I am forming a register of all who are keen to participate. Then everyone will get an assigned number. In the forum members will, in the order of number allocation, write a paragraph each to flow on from the last member's paragraph. They can write whatever they fancy, add whatever themes, twists and turns they like, anything goes! It can be as short or as long a paragraph as desired.

I plan to create two forums. One that will have an order of members contributing and we end up with one novel, and another forum that will be a free for all.. Here, we start with a different story from the main novel, then anyone can jump in at anytime, grab and carry on from any storyline on the go, it won't matter. We might end up with a few different storylines here, which will also be fun and also will keep us continuously entertained while we wait for the next assigned nutter to add on to the other main structured novel.

So if anyone is interested in joining in, please click on the  below link and apply to join Chess Nuts.

and then register your interest in this forum:

If you experience any problems applying to join Chess Nuts, please don't hesitate to send me a message and I will send you an invitation to join.

Side Note: Chess Nuts is experiencing much success in team match tournaments as well as in vote chess games, so a bonus if you like to support a very competitive group/team. No pressure to sign up for any matches though.

Cheers,

Babs Smile

I enjoy writing but no time to write a novel.

chess_kebabs

Participants only have to write a paragraph at a time Gowda.. and that paragraph can be only 1 sentence if they are short on time and just want to be a part of the novel, when their number comes up. And in the other forum, people can just jump in whenever it suits and also write as little or much as suits.

No one person is writing the novel, it's a joint effort. We already have many registered to participate.

Why sad FM_Kacparov?

Because you want to join Chess Nuts and the minimum age is 16 and you are 14?

I've let in some 15 years olds, so you are welcome to apply when you turn 15.. will sneak you in then.

Kacparov

yes but it's still 7 months away

chess_kebabs

Sorry, but the adults there sometimes are very 'adult' and it's  not appropriate for 14 years and under to be listening to them. It's not very often,  but I feel a responsibility to protect the ears of minors.  15 is not so bad so I am happy to make  an exception then for you.

Kacparov

ok - but the writing will be probably forgotten by everyone by thenSmile no problem of course

chess_kebabs

If I let you in now, then I face other 14 year olds saying how come I can't join and  you let kacparov join. Many kids  apply to join Nuts and I've regrettably had to deny them entry.

Here's some disguises, if it will help?

There's never been a literary work created worth reading that was written by a team.  That novel by Kesey's class was as close as I've ever seen any group come and it was pretty lousy.

It should be fun for the collaborators, though!

No doubt it's going to contain both paragraphs of brilliance prose and also paragraphs of pure nuttiness due to having a mix of professional and non professional writers joining in. The list of nutters wanting to participate is quite long already, after launching the idea and creating the register only approx 20 hours ago.

We already have some practising their literacy skills in our group notes, and it's very entertaining.

A question for any forum experts here.

I posted this forum in 'Chess.community'

Would posting it in 'Off Topic' get more exposure?

trysts

No. But a bump here and there should do itLaughing

I am not a forum expert.
