Does anyone know what happened to King_William ?!

I think most people here probably know King_William as he was very active on Chess.com from the beginning.. I was actually in the process of playing a game against him, when out of the blue he just resigned on me (and he was winning too!). I checked out his profile and apparently he resigned ALL of his games (his rating is now at 999), deleted all his profile information, pics, everything, and basically just disappeared completely... did he say anything to anyone that might explain this? Did I miss something? I would like to know...

I am (was?) one of King_William's friends here, and have tried to contact Willy in a variety of ways, but no dice. I think he took umbrage at something/someone and has decided to call it a day. His decision was made suddenly, as he was telling me 24 hours before the end how much he was enjoying it here. I am a little shocked and considerably saddened by Willy's impromptu dethroning. Cry

I'm glad that at least implies nothing tragic's happened in his life. Maybe he'll decide to return after a bit of a vacation. We all need time off from time to time. ;)

Maybe he was hacked?

Now was it just me or did anyone else notice how he was often a jerk to others, with no regards to what effect his comments would have.

Lets see...

I recall him often name calling and attacking people, often for no reason. Perhaps he was warned and threatened to be terminated, so he just quit, to let people (a select few) know he was leaving. If some did not notice, many of his comments have been removed from past posts.

Either way, from the few times I've exchanged comments with him, and just seeing how he treats some other members, I say good riddance.

Yeah, I did not really care for him either.

I like King William and always found him to be a good friend and was very supportive. I enjoyed his dry wit and dry humour and i, like many, will, and do miss him around here !

I'm with Evil_Homer.

Also: come back, King Billy. You are one of the crew.

Do I have to cook up an epic photoshop to lure you back into these threads?

Evil_Homer

By the looks of things, he was a better chess player than either of you, Feldmm1 u too, and wasn't a free loading gobsh&%e, he contributed both monetarily and to a lot of people enjoyment of the forums.

He may not have been your cup of tea, but who cares.

You could always do it to cheer the rest of us up. :-)

You bet your bottom dollar you did!!!

Picture a large Irish man with steam coming from his ears.

Does anyone have the any pictures King Billy used to use for his avatar?

Would you like to defend your position by giving examples of his "humor" so we all can laugh?

Pistoleer

I also have missed, and will miss, King William.

Loading up the forum each morning with my coffee I always anticipated a chuckle in response to his wit.  Now the chuckles are less  :s

The couple of ye who feel the need to say you didnt like him and wont miss him.. how about staying away from this thread then as you are being disrespectful, confrontational and merely posting flamebait. So flock off thanks.

Boys, boys, calm down. Feldmm, dark_J3sus... King Billy knew how to have fun in the threads, and not always act priggish. We could have a bit more of his brand of tomfoolery than sour tarts posting the basic site rules or trying to rain on everyone's parade.

Sure, King Billy liked to snipe at people. Whatever, it's the internet. Relax. I thought it was edgy. These forums can get mighty dry sometimes - he at least put some effort in to liven the place up.

Don't embarrass yourselves by being all dour and pointing out how you won't miss him. The internet doesn't care about how bitter you are.

Why the hell would I bother my ass to do that.  It's obvious that  you didn't get it in the 1st place so why should I bother my backside trying to give you a sense of humour.

Given the fact that you are 14, if your page is correct, the most you'd get from me is a good clip around the ear and sent to bed with no supper!

So you prefer to insult me instead of defend your claim? A very interesting response, but it does not change the facts. Show me this "humor" of yours, and perhaps I will accept your claim as true (if I am amused, of course). Continuing to insult me will only prove my point because it shows that you have absolutely nothing to say and that you are insulting me because the fact hurts you. Perhaps you thought that the way he treats other members was the amusing part, and you do not want to admit that you delight in other people's suffering.

Rael

Oh Feldmm1...

"instead of defend your claim"

Holy crap, son. You take yourself mighty seriously don't you?

 "...in other people's suffering."

Are you for real? Suffering?  Please tell me you're just trying your hand at trolling.

I'm not sure what happened, but if you want an example of his sense of fun I found one of his deleted threads.  Unfortunately I can't remember any others off the top of my head.  I'm personally sorry to hear he left. [:o(
