Blitz and Bullet.  What are the advantages of using pre-move? I have pre-moved 'prematurely' and lost a piece because of it.  I have been surprised to see the pre-move not function because I was put in check or I put my opponent in check.  I have used it for several moves and other times it seems like it does not accept several moves.  Is there a lesson on Chess.com that explains this or perhaps a good You Tube video.  I am totally a novice and will accept any kind of helpful thoughts on this subject.

Premoves take 0.1 second to make, unless you're experiencing high lag, so the primary use is saving time in faster time controls. In things like bullet, there are strategies when your opponent is low on time to sac material with check, or try dubious premoves that might catch your opponent off guard or also premoving.

Thank you for the great response on pre move. I had no idea that information was there to read. That helps my understanding of it at the least. Whether I put it in practice or not is another question. Just learning something new helps. Thanks again.

I play the slowest version of bullet but I still find it very fast!
