I don't understand your "convict" pseudo British slang, sorry.

Don't worry about not understanding other cultures mate: thats become The American Way.

I understood almost all that.

I think a fun thing in the forums would be more discussion of current chess events, like the olympiad, specific match ups of top GMs, the week's USCL leage bets, comments and analyses of those recent games etc.

The never resign and the best player discussions will always be there through circulating members, they are not much of a problem for me. What I don't like is the growing tendency of members to collectively start posting random and irrelevant memes and photos of the like in every discussion. I think they are very rarely funny, intelligent and to the point. Along with those photo flooding goes, because of the nature of most memes and photos, the mock and scorn of some members over others. That is already done way too much with ordinary text posts, but the meme inflation adds to it.

Chess can bring people of very different backgrounds and character. We sometimes forget that the very "stupid" question might belong to a child who is just learning how to use the computer or some technophobic elderly person. The same goes with comments.

DrSpudnik

That stuff is all boring. Who cares about the bla bla bla at the Olympiad or some dreary GM drawfest? People like pictures of weird crap and postings of favorite music videos.

But as a compromise, instead of making fun of kids & old duffs who don't know anything and stumble into a hornets nest of scorn...a scornets nest?...we'll just make fun of you from now on.

kco

you're a horrible little man drspudnik...... Laughing

DrSpudnik

Spamming your own thread, is this a way to have a discussion in the forum ?

goldendog

Stevie65

Kohais on forum duty isn't she..Well if not there still is no excuse to lock it down. Why did you pursue so hard GD.as you said it was Flags who chased him originally why didn't flags take it up.I stepped back to let you's get on with it..why cant' your gang show the same respect..KCO you were straight in as soon as Snakes logged off..Trying to gloat..Not very admirable traits

kco

Why wouldn't I follow up on his false accusations on the rss group and on me?

If he fairly answered my points, instead of just evading them and posting the usual ridiculing pics, we could have come to a quick and amiable settlement.

Instead he went on and I kept on. Why not?

He wasn't free to make any false accusations, none of which he backed down on. I was free to point this out, which I did.

So what's the basis for a complaint here? My arguments weren't flags' issues. Why would I have to wait for him to take them up just because we are buds?

goldendog

And please note, it's not only kohai who takes action in the forums. In fact, i'd say the small minority belong to her, as she doesn't frequent the forums so much apart from Help.

Sometimes is nice to be nice?

(Especially after a fall-out)

All moderators (not just Kohai) can be left with difficult-decision otherwise.
