It's been another half year now, can we get another update?

I've been in IT for around twenty years now, so I understand. Those 20 years, though, have taught me that keeping people in the look helps to allieviate some of the frustration.

Marignon

Several times I saw in chess explorer people for whom we could see both online and live games, so at least something was done (probably unfinished though).

If the administration fails to provide this feature "in bulk" - how about adding live games for subscribers or at least for the people who explicitely ask for it.

My game explorer function used to work and now it doesn't.  many of my games have not been showing up lately.  Not only my live games either.  I am getting frustrated with it.  Shall I just wait longer?

EricFleet

Dude, be patient. It hasn't even been two years since I reported the issue. ;)

Marignon

Recent Live games were seen in the Explorer, say, from February.

But since the beginning of April no games are added to chess explorer at all.

This is unacceptable as Chess Explore is the only feature that is worth premier membership.

They probably use a lot of IT manpower for the refurbishing they announced. Normally

they make an extremely conscientious impression on me. But they would probably better postpone the new design and start fixing the database.

Does anyone know how to simulate that service by downloading pgn's into some database program or something?

Because the fix takes work. But erik did, first page.

Yes, I download mine into "SCID vs PC". It is more effective than chess.com's service was, but a little less efficient.

PocketBilliard

Shaun at chess.com was nice enough to ask around and find out how to simulate the game explorer with my own games. Like Eric said (thanks eric) SCID will work also bookup.com. I haven't tried bookup but SCID works great. Just download it make a new database and import your pgn's.

SocialPanda

the slow part about that method is that you are still forced to download your pgn´s in many different files (page after page).

Ziggy_Zugzwang

-Yes I would definitely like to download in one go rather than page by page...

PocketBilliard

I've only been playing a few years so I'm not too concerned with the moves I used to make. Im just gonna go back a few pages then load them as I go. You could do the same and just load in some recent games then go back whenever you have time. Just make a note at which game you left off on.

EricFleet

I generally download my games after every game or every two or three. I gave a windows shortcut to move them to my chess folder then import into SCID. I try to review the same day I play so that thoughts are fresh.

Chess Openings Wizard Express regular price $67

You know... This price BITES

It is better to exert more pressure on chess.com and make it fix the Game Explorer.

EricFleet

Try Chess Position Trainer. You have to load the openings yourself, but it is a great training tool.

Marignon

I tried CPT with 50 games.. completely useless. It does not output how often this or that move was played and with what result.
