Green vs Charcoal??

Hmmm... tough choice but i'm leaning towards charcoal, The checkerboard pattern is easier to see on it.
If I were going to use it day to day, I would prefer the gray. The green looks nice at first, but I think it would be harsh on the eyes day after day logging into it, and I'd get tired of it. The grey is nice and clean.
In fact I'd even prefer a more faded orange on the buttons heh.
Somehow I don't think I'm representing the majority here though :)

Agree with the charcoal, and also agree that the orange needs to be less bright with the charcoal. If they're on a different layer, even a 25% transparency might do it.

I really like the charcoal. And it's a nice contrast with the pawn/logo. I also agree on a light shade on the buttons.
If I could choose, then I would use the default setting. Options makes me confused.

Was about to say this, except orangehonda beat me to it 
Better check to see if Gameknot doesn't have that charcoal/orange color scheme copyrighted!
Green looks more attractive but I guess charcoal seems more practical and less straining on the eye on a small screen.
Charcoal. But you should improve the app. playing strength(Android), not only the display. :-)

Why does everybody like the gray? It seems so gloomy! Chess.com is a happy, colorful place!
