I must admit it's with some trepidation that again I stick my beak into this topic. What idiotic, pointless, loveless, heartless, geriatric, patronizing, ignorant, illiterate, paranoid, (have I missed any there, oh Pinchbeck_Candlelight ) will I next inflict upon the ... innocent ?!
Until now I never suspected the depths of my perfidy (is that term acceptable,oh Gilded_One?). You'd reckon if I had a shred of decency I'd 'do the right thing': fly full-pelt, smackbang into the nearest wind turbine and end it all now!
Could you have imagined Atomic_Rift, that your cheery "Hello" of two weeks ago would generate such a twisting thread as this?
I sometimes think Chess itself can be a metaphor for Chess.com Topics.(or should that be the other way around?) This one has gone from the conventional 'Opening' posts and we're now well into the wiley strategy of the 'Middle Game' posts. Perhaps.
What then is my 'strategy' with this post ...? Like my Chess, I've really not much idea. I'm still undecided between: "Answer not a fool according to his folly, etc, etc." And "Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit."
I've always found Proverbs such a comfort....
(You do know you're not the fool Atomic_Rift!)
