White will play 5.Nxe5, winning a pawn. It 5...Bxd1, White has forced mate in 2. So, Black must play 5...dxe5, leaving White a pawn to the good after 6. Qxg4.
Hello all! This seemed like the right thread to introduce myself in. I've been playing Correspondence Chess for years on another site, and I happened across this one recently. I like the interface a lot, and the community seems nice as well. I'm a relatively solid intermediate level player (1700-1800 on the other site), and I like what I see here. Best of luck to you all if we do battle. If I can help anyone with some basics, I'll be happy to. If any strong players want a good student to mentor...well, you've heard all that before!
