How do I configure my account to not play against players from a certain country?

Why does Chess.com even have flags next to people's names? What does their nationality have to do with chess? They don't show player's religion or race. Isn't this website just baiting members into getting into political disputes? They say "No politics or religion in the forums", then they let members put national flags next to their screen names. Over the years, I've read countless posts by people bashing other people because they have this flag or that next to their names. It's disgusting. Chess, com should stop adding to the political rancor and get rid of the flags.

you can simply abort when you get paired with them in the Open Pool. I don't see any other  solution for you

I wouldn't recommend that: the site tracks how often you abort games and starts restricting your matches once it reaches a certain threshold.

Just don't challenge them don't accept their game but that's probably to simple for you. Wait you could show  some IQ and post tears.

One of the best observations I’ve read in a while.

Because they don't think. That's why. This came up in one of the topics that was locked or will get locked that displaying a national flag is one of the most political gestures anyone can make.

I don't see anything wrong with national flags next to someone's name. It's optional. Some of the greatest competitions in history are between countries, and chess can be very competitive. But yeah, I agree, it's extremely disingenuous to say "no politics" and at the very same time allow very political content.
