I understand(hope) you're joking, but in case others actually feel that way, let's be clear about it: people should be deliberate when interacting...if you're on a chess site and you're using the gender of others to guide your outreach, you're being disrespectful. If you're a man unable to appreciate that women have to put up with unsolicited/unwanted attention from men, you're being disrespectful. If you can't see the chess player through the profile picture, you're being disrespectful. If you think the women are lucky that you are focused on thier gender, you are over-the-top disrespectful. If you think women should feel flattered that you're complementing them, then you're simply not very bright.
I don't think think women/anyone should have to hide thier gender to avoid unwanted attention on chess.com. This is one of those things where if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem.
