1455 has been mentioned four times now (including this), so his rating is actually 5820. Bow down.
So many people are stuck on the rating. While a moderate rating is necessary to achieve some knowledge to teach, it in no way dictates how good a person is able to instruct.
Relying too much on numbers gets ya' in trouble. If you were 2000 would you underestimate a 1600? If you do, you may find yourself on the losing end. No different here.

True.
It's just that the OP, when attacked on his (relatively low) rating, did not answer like you did, but claimed that ratings on two accounts should be added (#9) instead of for example averaged which would make more sense. And that's more telling than the rating itself.

Depends on what you're teaching. If someone is trying to analyse my games, I want someone who doesn't make the same mistakes, and worse ones.

Thanks for the resouces you directed me to. I have never been exposed to these before. I especially liked the Knight's Tour puzzle. I solved it in about 5 min, 5 sec (first try). I don't see myself as IM quality (far from it), but solving this puzzle in the time I did boosted my confidence quite a bit.
