If you weren't a chess player, what would you be?

That joke is almost as old as chess.

If I wasn't a chessplayer, I'd be a Third World Dictator with a really cool afro, beard and uniform.

I think the question is irrelevant for most of us, simply because our being 'chess players' isn't a primary descriptor, i.e. we aren't chess players in the way most people would mean it. (On a side note, I'd love to see what the various titled players on this site think they would be doing if not chess)
Perhaps what the OP meant was more along the lines of 'what would you spend your time doing if you didn't play chess', which in my case would probably be playing computer games.
If I never started playing chess I would have continued to be a pokemon master. If I stopped playing now I would probably go to go.

I am a scuba instructor, jazz guitarist, father, gardener, and a fan of video games. Where I not a chess player, I'd be better at one of those.
I'd be a primate. An ape. A handful of sentient star dust. I'd be happily married. I'd be a proud father. I'd be an atheist. I'd be a business owner. I'd be: me.
