Im leaving chess.com for a WHOLE week! Cry

From: July 25-August 2

It'll be the longest I've been away since when I joined chess.com last October.

I will probably lose a game (that I should of won. click on the link.) due to time because I'm out of vacation time and erik won't give me more vacation time :(.

Don't improve the site too much!

See you guys in a week!

Don't miss me too much! Laughing

That brings up a good question: how does one get more vacation time?

Avatar of mercytononeZ

i asked erik but he said a year and a half is not long enough to suffer with a little vacation time. he said their still trying to figure out when they should give some more

ask your boss nicely, or when your salary comes up for negotiation (also when applying for a new job) request for more time. Both methods are acceptable ways for one to receive more vacation time.

Vacation time is reset yearly.  Vacation time cannot be 'extended'... there are people waiting to finish games.  If you cannot move in time and know that you need vacation time, play games with longer time controls.  That's the long and the short of it.  It is a pity that you will lose on time but your opponent does not need to wait for you, that's the rules.

You could ask your opponent (politely) to change his settings so that he doesn't automatically win due to time out. I'm sure he'll understand if you explain the situation.

I've heard that the earth will violently stop spinning and shoot us all into space if you don't finish that game, you'd better figure something out quick!!

give your password to a friend and let them play for you ... even their bad moves may be better than no moves?

Mabey this would be a good time to get a satellite connection for your laptop.Smile

leave without pay will be equivalent to more vacation time

A bit late now, I know, but you could have put in a whole raft of conditional moves. That might have bought you a little time. Especially in conjunction with asking your opponent not to move for a few days.
