How much time do u take to solve the Rubik's Cube(3x3)?
I too am a fan of Rubik's Cube.
This was excellent and very appropriate. Perhaps there should be a chess club and a tournament for those who value these ideas.
Well, I must say that this forum topic is quite good.
Well, many chess.com users post "COMMENTS" just to get points to boast about it. The points over here are some useless shi* with which u can do nothing. Many people just comment to get points. It just shows how active you are. That's why many people just comment shi*.
Any place on the internet that is free is going to have its share of bottom feeders. The daily puzzle is the one thread on the forum that is consistently visible from the very front page, so there you have it.
I didnt even know there was a intolerent speedsolving Rubiks Cube community out there. All I can say is WOW, INTERESTING...
I agree that a lot of what gets posted here should be delated as spam. But so what? Try getting to know your fellow forum posters. You will soon find out which of them are morons, which speak nonsense nonstop, and which are worth reading. I am not entirely sure I let stupid, meaningless or frivolous comments pass my way without mention, but not doing so is unrewarding and clutters up the forums just as much as posting nonsense in the first place.
Chess attracts both the intellectual and the empty-headed. We wouldn't know who was what if it weren't for the comments
The masses just post the usual inanities and don't really do much of significance. Their ratings can be anything, but tend to be at the lower to middle part of the bell curve.
Some posters take time and effort to be constructive. Perhaps they're slightly smarter chess-wise, and once again their ratings vary but tend to be at least in the middle of the bell curve (since they know whereof they speak, or at least think so.)
The really smart people, and this is a majority of titled players on the site, don't post on the forums because it's a lousy place to be. :-P
Does anyone remember the good old days of the mana drain? If you wanted a laugh you could just look for a locked thread and see someone get IP banned for being a moron. Without constant strict moderation by elitists you get garbage plain and simple. This forum will remain garbage because it is only moderated for (1) naming and shaming, which also appears to include using the name of someone who you think has been falsely accused of cheating; (2) Profanity and ethnic slurs; and (3) discussion of other chess sites. Being stupid useless flamebait is not against the rules. Nor is posting a thread that lacks sufficient content to start a discussion. Intentionally posting in a thread that you expect to get closed is not considered spam; it is also a bit of a hobby of mine. I have yet to get reeled in for starting flame wars. We even have the game showcase forum for useless threads.
None of this is going to change, either adapt, die or go someplace else.
your opinion on the quality of the comments made by other chess.com partcipants shows that you have little multicultural skills.
Pardon?
It's perfectly valid to be of the opinion that there are some meaningless posts made on this website. I'm not sure why posting about that would imply that the OP has nothing positive to say about chess.com members.
OP, there are some good informative threads on this forum, although the general mood is quite light-hearted. Maybe that's because (and I can't believe I'm using this phrase) chess isn't so niche - I can't imagine many people join up to a Rubik's Cube solving forum unless they are quite serious about solving Rubik's Cube.
Hi, I'm a fairly new member of Chess.com. A few years ago, I joined the another community, a community based around solving Rubik's cubes. One thing I noticed about the forum was that people don't tolerate stupid comments. If someone posts a meaningless or frivolous comment, the other members don't take it lightly.
After joining the Chess.com community, I was kind of shocked by the quality of comments, considering that this is a community based around the study of an intellectual game - Chess.
"VERY EASY", "COOL", "FIRST", "WOW", "NICE", "INTERESTING", "WHAT" - these comments are ubiquitous on the forum, especially on the Daily Puzzles.
These moronic comments reduce the quality of the forum, and make it much more difficult and tedious to find useful comments from decent chess players.
When you look at the ratings of the helpful members, they are significantly higher than the ratings of the members who post the aforementioned platitudes.
I know that this issue has been brought up before, but obviously the attempts were thwarted by the spammers of this site.
Please please please stop the madness.
