Wish I could afford you, maybe later.
Introducing: Chess.com University
yeah, that will surely be an issue. there's no way we can schedule a course so that the timing works for everyone. however, by eventually having a variety of classes at different times, you should be able to find something that suits you. of course that is *if* the whole thing works out and takes off.
now, speaking of bad hours in the middle of the night... i'll take my leave for a couple hours. cheers!
Oh my god, I love chess, I want to be better at it, but I'm just a fan so the course is to expensive to me, I need to find another solution...
principally, you get to have fun and improve your game. but yeah, i can make you a certificate too.
borgqueen :( sorry! maybe we can find an australian to teach a future course, and then it'll be at just the right time for you. but first Danny and i have to blaze this trail.

Chess.com is adding a higher level of interactive teaching to its offerings: Chess.com University. We will offer a variety of courses taught by top chess players and teachers: openings, middlegames, endgames, very specific like "how to exploit a good knight vs a bad bishop in an endgame", or more general like "limiting the opponent's play", as well as courses about how to study and improve your game. We are still developing this, and as new teachers get involved they will develop their own curricula, and their own course requirements.
Courses will have varying class sizes, but we expect most would be in the range of 8-20 students. Tuition will vary. So will course requirements (in terms of class time and homework). All courses will have a live interactive lecture portion (like chessTV but in a small private channel), and will make use of private groups for the students to post their work, questions, and thoughts for discussion amongst themselves and with the instructor. (eg: http://www.chess.com/groups/home/kings-gambit-ideas-for-intermediate-players) All members get a 10% discount off the first course they purchase; yearly diamonds will get an additional 10% discount off every course they ever take.
Please go to the new group:

to discuss, give us feedback, ask questions, etc... Our first trial course will begin on July 10, and a course description is already available there.
