Let's think together

I've just played an interesting game. My opponent played his every move in seconds and we both made simple mistakes, and everything was fine for both sides.

But then we eventually entered the endgame stage and he offered a rook trade, i accepted it immidiately since i had a 3 pawn majority on the far side of his kingside, then I started to push those pawns while blocking his only passed pawn with my king. His last remained bishop was opposite colored and my king was concretely stood its way of his promotion. guaranteed.

then he understood, that there will a promotion coming from my pawn majority. and he didn't play a possible reflexive move 48. ... Kf7 but sacrificed his last bishop AFTER thinking 2:26 minutes.

I even realized it was too strong during the game, but after game i analyzed it and engine said it was a brilliant move. His only masterpiece. His only move he took that long to think. His only proper reaction.. just in time, just in the right place.

A brilliant move is just a move that sacrifices material and is best or good. A bishop can also stop a connected passed pawns easily, especially with the king so close.
