Wow, 1,291.293 is huge! Has anyone got even close to that? It's almost hard to believe, I had no idea the site had so many visitors. I am wondering though, did I misunderstand "unique"? Doesn't that mean, we should count multiple visits by the same user (same IP adress) as only one visit?

those are completely unique. we had a total of 4.5 million "visits", but many of those are repeat visits. these stats are provide by google analytics.

Wow, I had no idea. You are doing a very serious job here erik, I mean, for chess in general. congratulations.

Is there a difference between the statistics at Alexa and the ones at Google
Analytics?

yes. google is from actual tracking. alexa is speculation based on toolbar installations and a few other things. it's like being inside the building, vs. being outside looking in through a deeply tinted window :)

Have fun speculating!!"

The speculation has been done, we had fun!

Put simply I do not see where the part of the above contract has been filled out.

What are closest guesses?

Who was closest?

What are the correct answers to each question, so that when alike future contests are held, we can be adjusting our answers?

What rewards have been given out and to whom?

Or possibly Erik is on vacation and has not had time to reply.

An inquirer for the community.

Clearly you missed the part where Erik stated:

"i'm going to post the answers here and then let you guys decide who was most accurate (i'm sorry - i don't have time to check all the posts)"
