Try to better anticipate your opponent's moves, and try to come up with concrete plans of attack rather than moving pieces aimlessly ![]()
Look at your last loss. You played a G5, got mated in 15 moves and still had 4:03 on the clock. So it's the usual. Nothing but speed chess. Move too fast. Miss sume tactics. Hang material. Don't follow opening principles.

you're right, but most of the games I played were blitz (5 mins) so I'm often worried about losing on time

Tbf 800s don't even follow opening principles in rapid so it's at least good practice in how to deal with that

5 minute chess is fine just make sure you use your time and practice time management

@DoYouLikeCurry makes sense. @emqhy One thing that is helping me is to turn the board around using the up/down arrows on the layout (top right margin of the board). They are hidden unless you hover. When you flip the board, you see what they see. For me, their plan becomes more clear. Play slower times so you can accomplish this. :-)

If it's still too fast just stick to rapid tho until it's easier to play under time pressure a little pressure is always good since beginners don't tend to do well in classical but too much doesn't help either maybe something with increment like 5|3 would be good but switching up time controls occasionally isn't bad for rapid time controls either 10|5 or 15|10 is good for beginners but intermediates (around 1600 ish ) it doesn't matter so much lichess also has all there time controls I think
If you look at my game history, I have been struggling with winning games consistently, if anyone can give me some tips that would be greatly appreciated
