Missing Simon Williams

He's definitely my favorite teacher on this site.

I'm hoping he returns to chess.com at some point

Gee, I wonder why he left?    I hope he's okay.    If so, then I hope he returns for your sake.    If not, then I wish him well.    Nonetheless, I hope he left willingly.

You may want to put in a good word for him with Management.

@Ginger_GM

He's only been offline for 5 days. I remember him saying on a youtube video that he much preferred lichess, I don't blame him.

Chuck639

I like him too.

Maybe he went to jail because of that situation he was involved in.

Won't you please share with us what you know, if any, about the "situation".

Oops -- I just realized that I misread your comment, Steven!   So sorry -- I read it too fast thinking the first words were "He'll only be . . . ."   And so I replied by saying:   "I'm glad for John that he'll be back soon."

Well, I hope that if he was involved in scamming activities, I hope he wasn't convicted.

I'm not talking about him being online... I'm talking about him doing more lessons for this site, which he hasn't done in a while.

I was on Lichess yesterday... I don't know why someone would prefer that site over chess.com, which I think is clearly better.

I read a while ago (a year maybe) that he was involved in some kind of financial scheme involving elderly people & getting them to "invest" in some plan. It was supposedly being investigated as a criminal act. U can look up the details.  I might be wrong but it seems like that's the overview of it.

But keep in mind that just because a person is accused of something doesn't mean they've done anything wrong.  People everywhere lie all the time to cause problems for people they don't like or disagree with about something. That's happened all through history.

You are absolutely correct, Damon (regarding someone or others trying to discredit a person's reputation or scandals)!

DreamscapeHorizons

Yep.
