Unfortunately the underlying code was ancient and you can only put so much lipstick on a pig. But yes of course it's a pain to have to relearn where everything is. No choice though; in a few months the old version will be gone. They do have a lot of new features that are worth exploring IMHO.

This is the biggest improvement for me:
Change your training mode with ease: Rated, Unrated, or Thematic training, which allows you to choose one or more tactical themes and train exclusively on puzzles that feature those themes. You can even focus solely on puzzles you failed in the past.
