New Site Design Feedback

I don't do themes but this tidbit was mentioned in another forum. The logo size has changed and now is 102px wide, 36px high

For iOS folks, take a look at the Atomic Web Browser. It allows you to bypass mobile versions of sites. You can tell it to present itself as "Desktop Safari" or "Firefox" or even "IE", and then the normal, standard version of this site will load onto your iPhone and iPad.

I play a lot of games in tournaments.  With the new design, I do not get the list of players in rows.  I get a player's name with a giant  1.5"x1.5" game board below it.  This game board is totally pointless and takes up HUGE amounts of screen space !!!  IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL MY GAMES.  I am now phasing out my current games here and then will play ONLY on the GAMEKNOT chess site.  I am a premium platinum member here and also a premium member on the GAMEKNOT site.  Soon I will be finished here.  I had previously considered this the superior game site.  No Longer.

at the upper right, there are 2 icons. One is a board and the other looks like 3 horizontal lines. Clicking on this latter will show a listing like before.

Thanks for the help Skip, however, clicking the icons you mention does NOTHING !!!  It just stays on HUGE GAMEBOARDS !!!

What browser and version are you using? Some older versions may not work.

You can also click on the link at the bottom that says "Show all current games" and you will get a list view. It isn't exactly the same though.

Skip, I stand corrected.  The buttons you mention DO WORK NOW !!!  The right button changed it to a list of games without the boards !!!  These buttons did not work yesterday or earlier today.  THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!

I have firefox 11 on my laptop, but each game is taking about a minute to load. I have a challenge from someone, but that page won't load at all!

i do not like it.

I dislike the new site design, and i am trying to write to the chess.com folks, but they don't have a way to reach them that I can find. When you go to support, there's no way to just sent a simple message.

i feel that the new system does not give enough privacy. I think it is an invasion of privacy that anyone can see who my "friends" are. And, i don't feel like knowing who my friends friends are. It is terrible. IT reminds me of the reasons I would never join Facebook.

Yes I am having major problems using my phone on the site. The screen is so crowded it won't load pages and I can't read my profile notes due to the screen size

If the button "Next Ready Game" really would work, I guess most players would be greatful. As it is now, when you push that button, you come to another match, which may not necissarily is a match where it's your turn to make a move. If the Next Ready Game-button really worked, then would all players not need to always go through "HOME"when open next game for making a move within. This is a certain issue. I'm surprised that not somany seem the concerned about it. (By the way: The button "Next Ready Game" is now missing in the online chess games but still there in the vote chess games. Make this button work, and I guess most players will be much more satisfied when using the the new format and playing their games.

What browser are you using? I know you can force a font onto all webpages using Firefox.

i see many complains about that the sites sociality. as far as i have seen this site was always combining sociality with chess. and in my opinion that was the main reason of this site being number one.

or maybe i don't understand your complains, because i have never used the facebook.
