I wanted to put a comment on it
I don't know about you, but I find this kind of robot a bit of a shame.
It was fun to have strange robots like that, who are very strong but whose true level is not indicated. But when they were the first
We'd already had some very good robots : Mittens in January 2023, The Questionmaster in June 2023, The Magni in January 2024, and, in a pinch, April's futuristic Martin. But the trouble is, I'm finding that this concept is starting to be repeated a little too often, and it's becoming tiresome.
We had Eugène last month, with an amusing difference : when we played 1. Na3, the bot was completely destroyed. But here, I don't know if there's an easter egg like that, but I don't find this Wumpus very interesting.
It would be better to simply do the same by revealing the real ELO, or simply lowering it, to around 2700-2800, and, once or twice a year, make a really strong bot. And put it, like the first four mentioned above, in a month when the robots are really special.
You may think I'm being hard on Chess, but I think Mittens' concept has been a bit wasted.
New Wumpus bot

First of all, I'd like to point out that I did cheat on this game - I'd played two games before this one without cheating and without really concentrating, and the robot won without problem. This one was to evaluate the robot's level (as I hadn't saved a game before, I hadn't seen the score of 3,100).
I used Stockfish 14, on Lichess. I had to stop the first one because I'd made the wrong move and put it in “challenge” mode, with no retakes possible, but there was an advantage for Lichess after a fairly tight opening.
On the second game, the Wumpus robot didn't resist, with only 73.8% accuracy.
