Twice I have reported a member, for using bad language, but the only response I get back , is a message on my screen which says “ Resource not found “ so in future I shall not bother , cos it’s just a waist of my time .

That sounds like a bug.

Are you using the Report button? On the website or on one of the apps?

people should not use bad language even if it's only on the internet. Who did?

Not sure how you tried; however, you can go to the offending member's Profile page and there is a button there that can be used to report abusive language.

"waist" of your time reporting bad language? Actually, 'tard, you should be self reporting. It's only catamites, intellectually speaking, who get offended by the various "rude" words. Save your ire for misplaced apostrophes and you'll feel much better

It has worked for me before

Bad language doesn't exist, just bad people

Which app? Android or iOS?

Are you using the Android beta?

If it doesn't work, it is a bug that should be reported to support@chess.com.

I don't have iOS but on the Android app, there is a "Report Problem" link. It basically just generates an email to support@chess.com with your device data included.

As an FYI, I am a moderator. If any of you experience someone using offensive, insulting, profane or threatening language, please contact me. Such behavior is not tolerated.  Chess.com takes all such concerns seriously. We want this site to be inviting and welcoming to all.

I took a pic of the screen and emailed the moderator. She put him on a list where they could only play others like them for a while
