Novag Robot Adversary Repair
Hi Jonas, I've researched these units for a very long time.... Due to their extreme age and the fact that Novag is long gone (along with their parts), attempting to service them can be quite a challenge. Along the way i've come across so many that have died. Perhaps, most of them.
If you are even remotely interested in finding a "good home" for it, I would love to own and display it, regardless of it's operational status including a plaque with your grandfather's name.
I have a private museum of memorable, extraordinary antique electronics. In the past, I've donated a century old: Atwater Kent AM radio and the first Sony Betamax Console TV ever made, to the National Capital Radio and Television Museum in Maryland. They are on display there. Coincidentally, the TV was owned by my parents who have since passed on.
I am not suggesting you pass it along for free. I would gladly pay you for it. However, it would find it's home on a pedestal here for a very very long time. You'd always be welcome to visit it any time you're in Myrtle Beach SC !
Bob Buono Muriel(at)
Hey guys,
I recently inherited my grandfathers Chess-robot. It’s visually in great shape, but like most of these robots, it doesn’t work anymore. I can turn it on, but all lights go on and it makes a faulty sound until I turn it off again. Is there any chance for me to repair this thing? It’s a beautiful piece and it would be such a lovely memorial to the man that taught me chess. I would be extremely thankful for any kind of help.
Greetings,
Jonas
