number of tournaments for basic members

Hi guys,

 I posted this in the tournaments forum also, but I don't think it gets that much attention there so, with everybody's permission I'll post my question here, also.

I want to setup a tournament for some of my friends, but some of them are basic members and are already participating in other tournaments. My question is: if a basic member finished the first round of a multi round tournament and is waiting for the other groups to finish, can he, at that point, join another unofficial tournament, even if he qualified for the next round of the original one?

basic members can only be registered in one unofficial tournament at any one time as far as i know, regardless of whether they are actively playing/qualified/waiting.

If they finished the first round and were eliminated, and not advancing the the second round, they can then join another tournament. 

I see.Thank you for your answers. That's what I thought also. However, I remember reading a discussion on the forum a few days ago where one basic member was able to join another tournament while waiting for the 2nd round of his 1st tournament to start.

The intent is that basic members be restricted to one member-created tournament at a time but it appears the method of determining this depends on there being an ongoing tournament game.

This forum entry cites examples of basic members entering another tournament when between rounds of a multi-round tournament.
