Question about sandbagging

Hey y’all,
Hopefully a quick question - is this sandbagging, or just lame without being sandbagging?
I’m playing a daily game. [removed- jbf] I’m just over 1400. Said person is beating me solidly. Their ratings are much higher in other categories. They’ve already played almost a hundred games, seems like they chose to start at 400 and have been playing lower rated players while being way underrated.
It definitely seems lame, but is it a “fair play violation?”
Thanks for opinions.

A lot of people don't play daily games and are therefore underrated, you can't just draw the conclusion that they decided to be 400 to beat lower rated players.

Daily is too inhomogeneous. Some think hours before moving, some seconds.
Some play dozens of games simultaneously, some focus on one game only.

I agree with both of your points, daily is certainly more of a crapshoot. This person has definitely played enough games to get a fair rating, so I do think they’re being lame about it, but no one ever said life was fair 🤷

Which is too bad, because I do really appreciate daily from a learning perspective and being able to fit it into my daily life.

Suppose a player starts 16 daily games.
He has no time to play these well, and loses several games in a row. His rating goes down.
Now with fewer games remaining, he has more time and plays better.

You aren't allowed to make accusations against opponents in the forum.

And you are wrong. It's not sandbagging. It only reflects the way ratings for timeouts are assessed in daily. If you actually looked at your opponent's archives, you would have seen that quite clearly.
