Should i pursue chess as a profession parallel to what i study?

I am writing this post because i am really wondering how high can i get to the rankings of OTB chess and if it's worthy to pursue chess as a profession. First of all a few words about me. I was born and living in Greece and learned chess just by watching my brother playing a game with a friend in the tender age of six. I even told him - my brother - that he did an illegal move. If he heard me is an another story! I am telling you the truth, i haven't copied it from the bio of some famous GM. Next, i started playing chess alone or with the computer from the age of 8. I have beaten a friend of mine every time we play and even i won the only game i played with my cousin who was a club player - the second time doesn't count, i was drunk. Now i am studying more closely that magnificent game by playing and analyzing the games of past masters and reading chess books.

So what do you think? Is it worth it? I am talented enough?

P.S. My loses with A.I. are fewer than my winnings. Even when i was 12 years old and played with my PC. It was easy enough to play in the hardest level in a few months. I will not say anything else. I leave this post to your judgement.

Thank you!
