If there were actual money at stake the only thing you'd be betting on is who's hardware/software combination is better and who's better at guiding their chess engine.  Gambling on online chess is pointless for this reason.

Able to delete comments in our own forums

I am of the opinion that this is a bad idea as well. The point of a forum is that is isn't YOUR forum, it is a forum, by which I mean the original root of the word. The forum in Rome was designed so that ppl could talk about different ideas, and even argue, in a market-like setting. Now I might not be opposed to the ability for super admins to delete comments in a group forum (which might already exist for all I know). The chess.com are different from group forums in that they are meant for open discussion.

I doubt you'll see that -- to easy to use for cheating.

Conquistador

I would like the ability to play Atomic in correspondance.  Sign me up!

Speaking of which, in addition to being able to delete other people's comments, you should also be able to reject their moves in a game.  I mean, as long as no-one could do it back to me that is....

only that's cheating. Deleting posts is not!!

I think you'll find a similar distaste for the idea of unfettered forum moderation.  Everyone having the ability to delete posts, even if only in the threads they started, is a horrible idea.

I agree. People would stop bothering to post their opinions at all, if they knew it was just going to be deleted before anyone got to read it, unless it was just agreeing with the OP.

suicide chess?

crazyhouse?

Conflagration_Planet

Free bubblegum for all members?

Natalia_Pogonina

100 free FIDE rating points for each Chess.com premium member Laughing

ozzie_c_cobblepot

I would love 100 FIDE points; actually I only want about 70. Then I can drop them all back and I'll still be happy.

For instance I have asked how better the game analysis at the diamond level is and never got an answer, I do realize that such a question is too much time consuming to answer on an individual basis.

For this particular one, I think I know the answer. For free members, game analysis is at approx. 2000 rating. Gold members are at 2200, and crown and diamond member analysis is at 2500. Hope this helps.

I wasn't talking about betting on games.

we have a TON of new features that are about to be released within the next week or so! i will tell you what they are if you guess them :)

Aaahhhh, you taketh away and then giveth??? lolol

No more color color choice in live chess but still available in online chess???

How about adding...

>>Tie in online and live chess to the opening book (just up to the opening moves the database recognizes) in order to track the openings played and played against.

>>Then have the ability to score those games, i.e. winning, losing, and draw percentages of those openings

>>Better game search (or filter) capabilites in online and live chess...maybe I just want to study my games as black or , or against a certain rating range.

Tie this all together and you'll have a very powerful learning tool.

Live tournaments would be great!!! They could be 5 minute games or something so that a live one could be finished in 1 hour or less?

maybe a live game of the week between some very strong players and live commentary from other strong players?
