Is there a reason why people do not use the spell check feature?  I will be the first to admit my grammar and use of punctuation are not always correct, but it takes less than a minute of time to run a spell check.  Granted spell check does not catch errors when you spelled a word correctly but you have used the wrong word.  For example I left a message for some one where I wished them "good lick" :)

Nor does it correct homophones: "I don't no ware you are," and that sort of thing.

My guess would be that people don't use it simply because they don't care about that aspect of the presentation of their ideas. It's a common thing on the Internet, unfortunately.

Its one of those things you have to accept on the internet. People use shorthand and people will play the grob!

I agree that people just dont care enough to take the time to check their spelling, or even to read over their post before posting.

A similar thing happened to me...I was IMing with one of my bosses at work once, and she tasked me to do something.  Well, what I MEANT to type was "Got it", but there was a little slip of the space bar, and...well...let me just say that the first word of the two words I sent back to her was "Go". Getting people to check their spelling?
