Also, how to make a plan. Cognoscenti say that having a bad plan is better than no plan at all. This may be hard to do, as it probably comes mostly from experience and intuition.

I suggest:

"How much chess addicts does it take to change a light-bulb?".

You can write a long text to explain this old and important question.

"How never lose in chess: I have the solution".

You will write a definitive system that guarantee wins in all games.

"How a male pawn is promoted to a queen (female) in chess?"

You will answer this very very very  complicated and delicate question

More suggestions:

"The Brain Fry Attack: the wonderful attacking game created by The King of Patzers".

You will describe and analyse this system. I can help you if you need.

Ok, I just came up with more ideas:

"Do you love chess but your girlfriend doesn't? I have a solution for you!!!"

We know most of girls don't like chess. You will write a solution for those chess players who want to teach chess to their girlfriends or even spouses.

You will get lots of views because this is an important issue:

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/how-to-get-your-girlfriend-to-play-chess?lc=1#last_comment

"If you are a blog writer and face a lack of new ideas, I am the solution!!"

You will write a solution for those bloggers (you can make it only for chess bloggers) without new ideas to find good inspiration for new themes and texts.

Yes, I plan to start focusing on Endgames during the summer.

Specifically should I be looking for tactical or positional options, or maybe even both, in particular could you give an example in the form of a diagram that maybe shows good middlegame play, cheers, Ian

First you have to lose a lot of games to get down to 1199.

#Robert:

I have another suggestion, since you target an audience anywhere down to low-intermediate (and up through advanced) it seems. When you are playing theory in the opening and your oppenent goes out of book, it would be nice to see some examples of how you can punish them (and perhaps some examples of when you can't and you have "wasted your time" learning theory insofar as that particular game is concerned). Also, how can you take your booked-up opponent out of his opening preparation and not be punished too severely?

Robert_New_Alekhine

@Chicken_Monster,

For intermediate players, I recommend not focusing on the opening at all. 90% of what you study as a Class C/Class D player should not be openings. Strategy, tactics, endgames, and positional play take the limelight at this level.

I'll buy that (and I promise not to study opening since you vowed not to play bullet and said to slap you in the face if you tried). SLAP!!  Innocent I think some familiary with the first few moves of popular openings, and the reasons behind them, is helpful (if not done at the sacrifice of tactics etc.) to intermediates. I'm convinced of that. That being said, it would be interesting to see some examples of what I suggested, and may help some players. Your call. Just a couple examples, please.

keek.

Chicken_Monster

What the heck is that?

MGleason

A series on openings for beginners and intermediate players might be interesting.  At this level we don't need to know 20 moves of theory, but it might be useful to know the first few moves of common openings, the reasoning behind them, and have a rough idea of the middle-game plan that should follow.

+1 (in addition to what I already requested)

Also, an extensive blog on trolling and bullet training for novice  chessplayers. Empahsis should be on how to analyze bullet games, opengings in the bullet games, without detracting from improving at trolling. :)
