My blogs are actually instructive

Your blogs are instructive, but mostly at the beginner level. At the intermediate-advanced level, people might not find your blogs instructive anymore, although I do consider your blogs well-written. At the intermediate-advanced level, people would enjoy a higher rated player breaking down his moves in a humorous and somewhat instructive fashion, like @Rodgy, @Lightning, and @DanielGuel. And the storytelling of tournament recaps is important. Why do you think @GothamChess's recaps have been some of his most popular videos? People enjoy that, and let's face it, watch a high rated player analyze his games for long enough, and you will learn something. And also, there are other methods of instruction on Chess.com, so a humorous blog can be a breath of fresh air. And the people who have voted are more familiar with Lightning's blogs. Those are my thoughts on why he has more votes than you.

I did apply.

How do I make my blogs more advanced?

This might sound rude, but get a higher rating. Learn more ideas before you can teach more ideas.

I’ve been trying to improve at Chess for months, and I have little improvement.

Maybe you've been taking the wrong steps.

You've been playing a lot of bullet, which is not the way to go. Play slower time controls and/or do puzzles, watch videos, and take lessons, it should get you to around 1500. Game analysis is good too, but game analysis of bullet is practically useless, since bullet at the 1000 level is mostly flagging. Blitz is good for quick tactical vision, but mostly for fun. Bullet is all fun, but rapid is more helpful. So if you really want to improve, quit bullet for a while, or at least slow it down severely.

Nimzowitsch

I only just started playing Bullet again. I mostly played Blitz for the last couple months.

Lightning

Also regarding your blog, you should consider changing it up a bit with your thumbnails, cause they're mostly all the same. Only the text on the thumbnail is different. A good thumbnail always helps.

interesting

What's interesting?

Dude really

You clearly don’t read our blogs

Only about half of mine are tournaments and that’s cause I want to document my journey to NM

Roger posts more often about topics not related to his tournaments

Daniel nowadays mostly posts about tournaments, but dig deeper and see all the other stuff he’s posted about

Do some actual research before making a comment like that smh

Nimzowitsch

I take your thumbnail point. I just don’t have the time and ability to make good thumbnails.

Also, how do you change the board for your blogs? I’m thinking about switching over to blue and white.

It's somewhere in the settings. Don't remember where exactly as I don't usually mess with my settings. Probably under board and pieces

Nimzowitsch

Is your blog board theme the same as your game board theme?

Yes

Is there something philosophically wrong with it? In a tournament post, you get a lot of insight, possible stories, and the games have themes. That's what I (and I'm sure @Lightning as well) try to present in our tournament posts. However, I will give it to you, I wish I had more diverse content. I just don't have the time or motivation to come up with something else original tongue.png

We all lack the time and motivation to come up with something original happy.png

Explains my lack of a recent post.

Yes this is true

And you're also busy with college and stuff anyway
