As for staff re-opening the ridiculous spam topic, your vision for the forums (I suppose I should say non-vision) is disgraceful.

Richard

@llama51 this is something we will be addressing soon in relation to Off-Topic. We certainly do not want a dumping ground. This is something currently being discussed and hopefully you will see an improvement to things in the coming weeks.

Bruh not again

Why ?

As in, @Worster007 is making it easy to identify his mute avoiding accounts by using the same Putin avatar and username prefix with his latest account @Worster001. These people just can’t help themselves

Ok, good to hear.

I agree mods are acting like KGB

Mods are sometimes dorks, or a bit dumb, but most of them are not like this, and if anything I'd say moderation is too lax with the rules. Chess.com is consistently friendly and gives its users a lot of leeway. And for as large as their team is, it's impressive how consistently rules are applied. I've never thought to myself "oh, I bet it was ____ mod that did this" because they all seem to be on the same page.

I'd say the moderation is very good. The mods boss(es) though... I wish they had a different vision for the forms... but it seems like this will be changing a little bit soon (less spam), so that's good to hear happy.png

Anyway, not KGB-like at all.

They "could" be KGB...surprise   the're moderators... King of the Goof Balls                                                        That would be US....tongue

“Changing a little bit soon” - the only change in the last 5 years has been that they’ve stopped zapping every mention of lichess that someone makes - which is good, since that seemed like a very insecure position to take in the first place - but however well intentioned the mod bosses may start the role in, the sheer inertia of the current policies seems to block them

Nah. Chess.com is a relatively small group of people. There's no inertia lol.

As for lichess, this was around the time chess.com was nearly overwhelmed by traffic from dual chess booms. I'm sure everyone involved would have welcomed the relief of sending 5 figures worth of people towards lichess... so... not sure it has anything to do with becoming less insecure, and they might reinstate it (it makes sufficient sense from a business standpoint).

It can take a little while for a game to write to the archive. It should probably be there by now

It's not bad for kids to have fun, I don't blame you.

It is bad for adults to behave in unreasonable ways, and IMO there has been some nonsense, although apparently they're thinking about the situation now.

Mattew
