Ignoring the chat is not a relevant sollution, since many people (who are not destructive) wish to actively discuss the game at hand in a technical and analytical context, but are interrupted by the disruptive trolls on this site. We don't want to block every annoying person. We just want to discuss the game at hand in a respectful way, without nonsense.

The paying members does make chess.com in its continued existence so let's allow them to vent their anger. However the internet is full of garbage, nowadays if you listen to the news there are moves from governments restricting the use of the internet in their countries, how that would end up I don't know. I would suggest however you join a group where a lot of helpful stuff goes on. Group members can ban individuals that misbehave. There are a lot of groups at chess.com try one.
For the rest of you who are objecting, im not suggesting letting only the diamond/platinum members use chat. The lowest cost, basic members should be allotted the right as well. It's a matter of principle that the people who make a tangible effort to contribute should not be inconvenienced by the freeloaders.
What the hell is that supposed to mean? Gold members are now lowest cost, basic members?
