I hereby challenge the Scandinavian Haters Group to a game of vote chess.
Go ahead! Play 1.e4! We will crush you!
Private group? That's the worst, so I´m not allowed in? And I´m only allowed 125 characters in the message, gosh.

Wormrose-
Challenge accepted. However, it must be a vote chess match due to the difference in members. Plus, give me a short while to alert my team mates.
You're on.
Ninevah-
I agree...
Tricklev-
Haha, well our group isn't private...
-Leo
1.e4 - a move based on centuries of common sense and knowledge.
1.... d5 - a playable move.
1...d5 has been in use almost as long as 1.e4. The first recorded game was played in the 1500s.
Since the Scandinavian (1... d5) is a response to 1. e4 it's certain that 1. e4 has been in use longer though.
Even if only by seconds.
I personally love to face it and would never play it myself.

Yes, the group is private because we often post information in the forum pertaining to our current vote games. That would be like inviting our opponents to view what we are planning - not too smart. Of course you are welcome to join the group if you wish, however I won't approve any membership requests from members of your group until after this game is over.
Wormrose-
Unfortunately for us, Tricklev is not a member of our group...
The Grobe-
Good logic, I agree. : )
Odessian-
Your choice, but I can't say I approve...
Is there a 1.d4 haters group? I'd join that.
I'd join right in with you ;)
Can I be in too, please?
This observation might be instructive or not mean anything at all Leo, but, haven't you noticed that the centre-counter supporters out-rank the the haters in every instance
Vuduchile-
Why yes, I did notice that. However, the Scandinavian Haters is still a new group and I can't condemn people for their ignorance... Nah, I'm kidding. I saw. That's okay.

That's hardly a fair fight, with over a 300-point difference in average rating, and the Scandinavian group having several 2200+ rated players.
It's fair because the haters said we play a stupid opening. (Their ratings aren't high enough to determine what is stupid.) Besides our highest rated vote chess player is only about 1900.
The French Defence Haters, now that's a group that cries to be established.
Agreed. Though in the 1300 - 1600 arena they don't seem to know how to use it, so it is fairly benign.

I play what I call the "delayed scandanavian" - I play d5 on move 2 after preparing on move 1 with the pawn push c6. I believe that is superior.
