Um, can anyone say anecdotal vs. empirical evidence? One example does not a point prove.
When your tongue is dry you are drunk.

A friend of mine went to a bachelorette party last Friday. She consumed about a bottle of wine plus 3-4 vodka drinks between 7:30 pm and 2:00 am. She drank eight ounce glasses of water at one hour intervals before and during the evening. At the end of the night, she drank a final glass of water. She had a mild hangover the next day.

I was referring to Karl_'s evidence being based on his own experience (anecdotal). I think most of us have been "super drunk" and know how to mitigate a hangover. And I think most of us know that very few people can altogether eliminate one.
Well you have to take into account body type as well. For someone like me, if I had two drinks, I would be over the limit.

A hangover and being drunk are two different things. One means you feel crappy in the morning, the other means you can get your ass thrown in jail if you are driving.
Don't worry, my friend wasn't driving. I personally won't drive if I've had anything over one drink. However, I think hangover avoidance was the main topic, and this is a side branch.

Okay if you want to avoid a hangover quit before your tongue is dry.

Body type does make a big difference. I'm pretty tall, so I have a high tolerance.

It's body weight not how tall you are. The more blood you have the longer it takes you to get drunk.
Trust me when I say that I've tried virtually every hangover cure there is. Some things help, nothing cures.
It's sad to see, and I'm very sorry, that so many people are so close-minded. Docs agree with me but just cause it's me, you doubt. Have fun going thru life with those blinders on!
For myself, I learn from others and experience. And I sure ain't sorry I do!
You had to go to a doctor for drinking?
As I said, some things help, but nothing cures.
Karl_ it is simple, I don't know why you don't understand.
People don't plan to get toasted. It just happens. Sort of like going to Denny's.
Also, while you are in the process of getting toasted, drinking water takes up valuable space.
Put 2 and 2 together, come on!
