Is this is an April fool's, why does the date suggest it was posted on the second of April?

I reacted with shock and interest to the news of the US government bailout of chess engines worldwide.
I am still trying to discover more specifics, but when US Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner replaced GM Andrew Martin's weekly column to announce the package, it caught my attention. I'm sure more details will be forthcoming in the near future, however here are a few details:
Geithner said subsidies for chess engines worldwide were necessary as both an economic and as an intellectual stimulus - stating that the principles of chess and thinking ahead were sound practices for all business leaders. Certainly the millions of enemployed around the globe would benefit from games of thought, networking opportunities, and keeping one's mind sharp. There were also rumors of several chess engines merging and that politicians worldwide would be given gratis accounts.
If Chess.com has not already pulled this post, most of you will have realized this is an April fools joke.
