To all the 1800 and 2000+ rated players in here.. that have used chess.com lessons and membership..

I just got myself a platinum membership, without one i somehow reached 1800 rating on my own, from youtube and other chess websites, and by myself.. however this all happened long back and im titled right now. i cant bring myself to play the way i used to, i play like a 1300 right now, all i can remember is some opening lines and responses..decent tactics, no middle game ideas and strategy, and very decent endgame ideas, overall im just titled as heck.. so i thought about getting the membership and using it so maybe i might learn a thing or so using the lessons and i might get back to form but im confused on how to properly use my plat membership..

ive mentioned where im lacking, and i need someone whos above the rating 1800, preferrably 2000+ to tell me how i should be proceeding so i get the maximum out of my membership.. its urgent cuz i have a tournament in about a week. i play really well and ive defeated national masters in the past too, jus that i cant bring myself to play the same way, ive forgotten a little too much chess.

it would be generous if someone helps me out so i can get the best use of my membership and get back to my form.! a well structured plan would be appreciated even more. thank you

help would be appreciated

I only bought gold for the puzzles, I recommend you do more of those.

oh thats helpful thanks for sharing your perspective

Having a lengthy break can be brutal and the best idea is to get back to the habits that you had.

Doing bunch of puzzles to wake up your brain to thinking tactical positions again helps.

Looking at game review after each game to spot where you make grave errors or miss opportunities can be helpful. It also gives you time to process a loss in a logical way so that you don't tilt in an emotional way.

Insight can be helpful to spot which openings that works for you and which openings you need to improve on.

If you feel ambitious its also helpful to manually track your result according to this great blog post.

DCthedestroyer

Personally, as a 2000+, I only use it for puzzles and game analysis

I have a Chessly 2.0 membership where I practice through Levy's courses, recommend it!

Imo lessons are the best premium feature by far. I like chesstempo puzzles (free btw) so much more than chess.com puzzles, and prefer self-analysis over game review. Some of my favourite lessons (can you tell who my favourite author is?)

https://www.chess.com/lessons/roots-of-positional-understanding

https://www.chess.com/lessons/silmans-lessons-in-strategy-1

https://www.chess.com/lessons/silmans-lessons-in-strategy-2

https://www.chess.com/lessons/now-what

https://www.chess.com/lessons/tactics-from-the-old-masters

But overall, I don't think cc premium is an efficient way of spending money if your goal is improvement

If being tilted is your problem then learn chess psychology.

I use @Bgabor91's patreon along with puzzles and game review to improve.

You also haven't played a game of rapid in months. I suggest you get back to it if you want to prepare for your tournament.

Blitz ONLY for fun to stay sharp—don’t stress over rating.
