When a thread changes title, it retains the original URL

RonaldJosephCote

DID IT change titles??   In the forums, its still "Who Am I?"   I can't get on to Trysts's movie thread either.

The Chess .com Staff has publically admitted that the "Spider" was "Swamped" by a primitive brute-force alagorythim....Surprised

Forced to search for a "Cat In The Cloud"....

Can we really trust them to understand the intricacies of V3????

Yes, it changed titles. The evidence is in the URL.

The change may have occured prior to your first memory of the thread, or you may simply be mistaken, but it has changed title.

Here's another example of the same thing:

Today a change in how Microsoft Bing’s web indexing spider reads our web pages resulted in Bing repeatedly hitting some new pages on our site, which were not able to withstand the load.

Unfortunately, that causes a cascade of database problems which we jumped on as quickly as possible to fix, but it turned out to be a very tricky issue which touched a lot of our site.

We are very sorry for the down time! Please contact us if you have any questions or need help with anything.

No problem. There is more to life than chess; like wine, women, and song.

Hi, Why is the member search is not working?

jonardedos

Try to search some members...
It says "This page has been temporarily disabled. "

justus_jep

Nooo... not the primitive brute-force alagorythim. Yell

DeepGreene

That is the result of "Bing-proofing" to prevent more of the nonsense that affected us yesterday. Blog, Member, and Article Search are temporarily disabled. We hope to bring them back later today.

Member search wasn't working at 11am. I was just too lazy to call it in.
